When I first came here to Canada, I was a nanny for five years and I devoted my time to that job. The most common definition of an Overseas Filipino Worker as it is called. However, I know that there is still a better version of me out there, beyond the job that I have. Even with the desire to step out of that job, there is me holding myself back. I am not confident to talk to anyone, I am not confident that I can do something aside from what I normally do, and most of all, I am not that confident to take that leap.
Even with the uncertainties, I took it. I resigned from my job and started to look for my own definition of a greener pasture.
When that decision was finally made, another wave of challenges was thrown at me. In 2020, the year the pandemic enwrapped the whole world, we all know how the pandemic challenged us; mentally, emotionally, and most of all financially and I remind myself to look beyond its meaning.
In that same year, Greatway Financial came to my life. It was indeed a perfect opportunity for me to start doing and living the life that I want. But it always come down with George Orwell’s quote, “It is slow and invariably disappointing”.
After five years, the progress I am seeking for my life finally came through Greatway.
